Rosemary Frei, M.Sc.

Rosemary Frei has more than 16 years' experience in communications, with a diverse background in life-sciences research, journalism, corporate communications, media relations and continuing medical education. She has been a freelance medical writer since 1994, after having worked as the medical editor for Core Communications, an account executive at Fleishman-Hillard and as the Research Communicator for the University of Calgary.

Rosemary has the ability to understand and act on her clients' objectives and to translate them into effective communications pieces. She specializes in material requiring high-level scientific knowledge and writing skills, such as sales aids, slide kits, clinical monographs
and summary proceedings. Her areas of expertise range from cardiology, oncology and neurology, to respirology and gastroenterology. She also is bilingual.

Rosemary began her writing career while completing an M.Sc. in molecular biology/biotechnology in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary in 1988. She has been a freelance broadcast and print journalist for outlets ranging from "Canada AM" and CBC Radio's "The Calgary EyeOpener" to Equinox and Canadian Business magazines. She is a former board member of the Canadian Science Writers' Association (CSWA) and has been a judge for the National Newspaper Awards and the CSWA's journalism awards.
